Life Sucks
Heard from my first college today.

I got waitlisted from Brandeis.

I am not happy. I don't even want to go there but it would have been nice to start of the college game with a bang. It also would have been nice if I were in somewhere and not have to angst. Now I still have to angst and it makes me worried if Brandeis is going to waitlist me, what are the harder schools going to say? It makes me even more nervous.

Ugh.

I am also being a crappy homestay partner. I keep failing at finding things and messing up plans...but whatever. Yesterday we went to Harvard Square. Today we had Geoffrey's test (red belt, wooo!) and went to the mall. I then got stuck in the parking lot like woah and got mad lost going to Jordan's furniture. We were so late to the movie that we had to exchange for vouchers. (The inside of Jordan's is wicked cool, btw) Tomorrow we are going to the MFA and it will be fun. Next week the German's are wicked busy anyway.

Hopefully she won't hate me.

No matter WHERE YOU GO you are going to be happy. I honestly, truly believe that. Even my mom's kids who have ended up transferring have been happy -- they just realized, at some point over the year, that they wanted something different. She's had kids at freaking UVM for a year who then transferred who had a good time. You are going to be fine. I promise. <3 You'll probably love wherever you go, and if you DO decide to transfer then you'll be even happier wherever you end up.

This year has been totally ridiculous in terms of admissions for everybody. So far, from what I've seen, basically everybody has been having trouble -- not getting in places that they expected to. I mean, look at Loomis and Chicago. I don't think anybody predicted that one. There are just zillions of kids applying everywhere. The plus side of this is that schools that aren't normally as competitive are going to have a lot of really, really awesome students who didn't get into their first choices. And just because you didn't get into Brandeis doesn't mean that you won't get in your reaches. I'll admit, it's not a great sign, but everything is such a crapshoot that you just can't know. They'd also already taken three (if not more) kids from our school ED. Don't give up hope just yet!

Thank you love.

I also need to keep in mind that Brandeis is my small school. That is the only way I'm going to be able to be somewhat optimistic. It just really bothers me that Molly N got in and I know I have better grades than her. *le sigh*

When you hear back, lemme know.
